A tense refers to the form of a verb which indicates the time of an action and describes the state of that action হচ্ছে একটা verb –এর সেই form যা দিয়ে কোন কাজের সময় বুঝানো হয় এবং ঐ কাজের অবস্থা বর্ণনা করা হয়।

The sentence is the biggest grammatical unit which consists of words, phrases and clauses অর্থাৎ যে বৃহত্তম grammatical unit এর মধ্যে আমরা word, phrase এবং clause-এর ব্যবহার দেখতে পাই সেটাকেই আমরা sentence বা বাক্য হিসেবে অভিহিত করি।

ভবিষ্যতে কোন একটি কাজ শুরু হয়ে তা কিছু কাল ধরে চলতে থাকবে এমন বুঝাতে future perfect continuous tense হয়। যেমন- সাত দিন ধরে আমাদের পরীক্ষা চলিতে থাকিবে। Our examination will have been running for seven days.

ভবিষ্যতে দুটো কাজের মধ্যে যে কাজটি পূর্বে ঘটিবে তা হবে future perfect এবং যে কাজটি পরে ঘটিবে তা হবে future indefinite tense। যেমন- তুমি আসার পূর্বে আমি কাজটি করিয়া থাবিবো। I shall have finished the work before you will come.
